Training, facilitation, away days and knowledge sharing events

Training

Training adds to the knowledge capital of the organisation.

Training and development in a range of skills and behaviours can re-energize and transform your staff and their productivity. It demonstrates a commitment to them that meets the commitment they make to their organisation by doing a good job.

Training can take many forms such as:

  • One-to-one coaching to engaging very large groups of people simultaneously
  • Short mind tests and exercises to action teams with a series of tasks they need to complete over several months
  • The traditional face-to-face presentation style courses to project based on-the-job experiential programmes
  • Mobile phone based tests to creating virtual E-learning modules using role playing avatars in a virtual world.

Strong Enterprises can develop a programme of training modules that can mash-up your training strategy.

Facilitation

An external facilitator provides thinking space that will enable a group to improve their decision making processes, develop their communication styles, explore solutions or agree outcomes.

Additionally, it can be useful to have an external facilitator when a group wants to concentrate on the content of a meeting with many complex issues rather than the meeting process. Frequently a new approach to a change process or to a strategic away day can shift familiar paradigms about the range of solutions.

For example, a good facilitator will:

  • Highlight when the group is moving away from the objectives
  • Assist when the group appears to be stuck in their process
  • Manage constructively potential conflict
  • Provides balance between the different interests of the group
  • Encourages authenticity
  • Respects and responds to the group’s dynamic

Away days

Away days are a vital process for individuals and teams to step back from the day to day pressures to re-focus on the longer term plans, strategies, issues or ideas that will benefit their organisation.

Frequently a facilitator will be invited in to run the day for the reasons listed above but also they will create new challenges and new approaches to the team assumptions for finding a solution. See creative workshops on the courses page.

Knowledge sharing events

In today’s networked world knowledge sharing is vital. The question is how to ensure the right knowledge gets to the right people. Strong Enterprises has completed a series of learning and knowledge sharing evenings in Bristol, Oxford and London looking at the relationship between productivity and virtual working.

The objective is to include people who come from a broad range of sectors and organisations with different perspectives on remote and virtual management and, therefore, come with different solutions.
